MacKenzie Scott donated $26.2 billion in five years, but why is she missing from the Chronicle of Philanthropys top 50 donors list?

MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, donated $26.2 billion over five years and $7 billion in 2025. Despite her significant charitable contributions, she did not appear on the Philanthropy 50 list this year. This exclusion is attributed to her preference for privacy in philanthropy and lack of detailed donation information. Scott's approach to generosity is influenced by personal acts of kindness experienced in her life.
