Ken-Betwa activist Bhatnagar ends 18-day hunger strike on mother's request

Activist Amit Bhatnagar has ended his 18-day hunger strike against alleged irregularities in the rehabilitation and compensation of families displaced by the Ken-Betwa river-linking project and other irrigation schemes in Madhya Pradesh. His fast ended after his mother persuaded him following his discharge from hospital, while the administration said it would examine complaints and the activist welcomed the decision to conduct a fresh survey and joint inquiry into the allegations.
