Indonesia's top Muslim council opposes upcoming Andrea Bocelli concerts over Israel ties

Indonesia's top Islamic council has voiced opposition to Andrea Bocelli's upcoming concerts in the country. The council's objections stem from Bocelli's previous support for Israel, which contradicts the values in Indonesia. Talks with government officials have been initiated to address the issue while public sentiment remains in favor of Palestinian independence. Local police have even withdrawn support for the concert at the historic Borobudur Temple.
