ED probe links two Al Falah officials to SIMI, JeI

Days after three doctors associated with the university were allegedly found to be part of a terror module that carried out a blast in the national capital, ED earlier this month had carried out searches at nearly two dozen premises linked to the Al Falah University, its trustees, and related persons/entities. Following the search operations, the federal agency arrested Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, chairman and founder of Al Falah University. People quoted above told ET that Jawad has confessed to ED during questioning that he was arrested by Delhi Police in January 2000 in relation to offences of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy under the guise of a Portfolio Management Scheme , and that he remained in prison for four years.
