Court can extend draft voter roll date if a fit case is made out, says Supreme Court

The oral observation came from a bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi during the resumed hearing of pleas challenging the SIR in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. The West Bengal government's counsel flagged concerns over the matter being posted for December 9 - the date scheduled for publication of the draft roll.
