Census 2027 rollout in 11 states from Wednesday: Census Commissioner Mritunjay Kumar Narayan

India's Census 2027 begins April 1, rolling out in 11 states. This census will be fully digital for the first time. Phase one focuses on house listing and housing details. Phase two, scheduled for February 2027, will include population enumeration and the recording of caste information. Self-enumeration options are available to respondents.
