Bill to identify Amaravati as Andhra Pradesh capital to be tabled in Lok Sabha

The Centre is set to introduce a bill to declare Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. This move fulfills a key demand of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, will amend the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014. This amendment will officially designate Amaravati as the new capital for the state.
