2026 polls: Congress appoints panel for seat-sharing talks with DMK, ends claims on aligning with TVK

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has formed a 5-member committee to negotiate seat-sharing with the DMK for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Led by Girish Chodankar, the panel includes K Selvaperunthagai and S Rajeshkumar. Senior leader P Chidambaram welcomed the move, asserting it strengthens the INDIA bloc and dispels rumors of an alliance with actor Vijay's TVK.
