Screenshot Foundry iPad (12th generation) First half of 2027 rumored When Apple updated the standard iPad in March 2025, the biggest disappointment was its A16 chip, which doesnt support Apple Intelligence. The next model is expected to address that with an A18 or A19 chip, bringing Apples AI features to its entry-level tablet. Bloombergs Mark Gurman previously predicted a 2026 launch but now expects the new iPad in the first quarter of 2027 at the earliest. According to a brief update in Mark Gurmans Power On newsletter for Bloomberg in August, Apple is aiming to launch camera-equipped AirPods. The new earbuds are expected to resemble the AirPods Pro 3, although its not yet clear whether they will also include a heart rate sensor. The cameras are said to include both visible-light and infrared sensors, but they reportedly wont be designed for taking photos or recording video , as their placement and image quality would make them unsuitable for those tasks. Instead, the cameras are expected to enable AI-powered features, such as hand gesture recognition, adapting audio based on the surrounding environment, and detecting whether someone is speaking directly to you or simply talking nearby. Our separate latest iOS beta and latest macOS beta guides track testing of future updates. Siri and Apple Intelligence Siri AI brings more natural conversations, personal-context and onscreen awareness, and more actions across apps. Not every promised Siri AI feature was available at launch. Octobers 27.2 updates added French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish alongside English. Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are due by year-end. In the EU, Siri AI is available on macOS but remains unavailable on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS. Availability depends on device, language and region, and some users may need to join a waiting list. iOS 28, iPadOS 28, macOS 28 Apple is expected to preview its next major operating systems at WWDC in June 2027, followed by summer beta testing and public releases in the fall. Apple smart-home products coming in 2027 and beyond In October 2026 Apple announced a major expansion of its smart-home lineup with the launch of the HomeView , HomePod mini 2 , a new Apple TV 4K and the Apple Home Collection at its Welcome Home experience. We are still waiting for the update to the larger HomePod, with hope that could arrive in 2027. Screenshot Foundry HomePod 3 Expected: 2027 The HomePod mini was updated in 2026, but not the larger HomePod. The reason for the delay may be that a more advanced HomePod speaker featuring a built-in display is coming. HomeView Ultra Possible release: Late 2027 at the earliest, potentially 2028, according to The Information. Bloombergs Mark Gurman reports that Apple is developing a higher-end HomeView, codenamed J595, with a 9-inch display mounted on a motorized arm. The screen could rotate through 360 degrees and automatically turn toward whoever is speaking. A November 2 report from The Information suggests the device could cost around $1,000 and arrive in late 2027 at the earliest, although its launch could slip into 2028. Development of its autonomous AI features reportedly remains a constraint, with Apple still deciding which capabilities to include in the first-generation model. Cameras and sensors could allow it to respond to its surroundings for example, turning on lights when someone enters a room. This would be a separate, more advanced model than the 7-inch HomeView announced in October 2026. Apple has not announced the device, and HomeView Max and HomeView Ultra remain speculative names. Read more about the HomeView Ultra here: HomeView Ultra with robot arm may be coming next year Upcoming Vision devices, AR and spatial computing Apple Smart Glasses Possible 2026 introduction, 2027 launch Unlike the bulky Vision Pro headset, the upcoming smart glasses from Apple are expected to follow a form factor similar to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Said to be built specifically for Visual Intelligence. It will likely handle tasks such as live translations, music playback, phone calls, and turn-by-turn directions. Apple could provide a first glimpse or preview of the glasses by the end of 2026. Vision Pro Possible 2027 update Prior to 2026, Apples spatial computing strategy has focused on the high-end market, but reports indicate a more affordable version of the headset is in development.
