Diljit Dosanjh says he does not feel worthy of singing Hanuman Chalisa for Ramayana: Part 1; seeks forgiveness for any mistakes
As Ramayana: Part 1 arrived in theatres on November 5, Diljit Dosanjh extended his best wishes to the films team while reflecting on his own association with the ambitious project. The singer lent his voice to the Hanuman Chalisa, collaborating with Academy Award-winning Indian composer A.R. Rahman and internationally acclaimed music composer Hans Zimmer on the devotional track featured in Nitesh Tiwaris directorial. Speaking to SirfPanjabiyat, Diljit expressed humility about being entrusted with the opportunity, admitting that he did not consider himself worthy of singing the revered devotional composition. He said, I got the opportunity to sing the Hanuman Chalisa, although I don't consider myself worthy of it. I don't feel I'm worthy of such an opportunity, but getting to sing it was a very big thing for me. The singer further spoke about the sincerity with which he approached the recording and acknowledged the responsibility that came with performing a devotional piece of such significance. He also sought forgiveness in case he had mispronounced any words while singing it. Diljit added, I tried to sing it with all my heart and put in my best effort. If I happened to pronounce or say any words incorrectly, I sincerely ask for forgiveness. But whatever effort I made, I did it wholeheartedly.
