Is Arun Matheswaran directing the Ilaiyaraaja biopic?

Rumors about director Arun Matheswaran exiting the Ilaiyaraaja biopic starring Dhanush have been officially denied. Dhanush's team has issued a clarification stating Matheswaran remains on board. The film is slated to commence work after the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'DC'. Shooting for the highly anticipated biopic is expected to begin in April 2026.
