'Doraemon' director passes away after battle with lung cancer

Acclaimed animator Tsutomu Shibayama, celebrated for his extensive work on the beloved 'Doraemon' franchise, has passed away at 84 after a battle with lung cancer. Shibayama, a pivotal figure in Japanese animation, directed 22 'Doraemon' films and shaped the iconic TV series' tone. His legacy also includes contributions to 'Chibi Maruko-chan' and 'Ranma '.
