Tom Cruise to return for Days of Thunder sequel, 36 years after original film

Tom Cruise's long-awaited Days of Thunder sequel is moving ahead, with Jonathan Levine in negotiations to direct the racing drama. Cruise will reprise his role as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle and also produce the film alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, with a script by Will Staples
