Sharvari says Sooraj Barjatyas Jhumka Patola let her explore her love for dance differently: A song is so deeply woven into the narrative

Sharvari is set to showcase another facet of her dancing abilities with Jhumka Patola, a song from Sooraj R. Barjatyas upcoming musical romantic family drama Yeh Prem Mol Liya. The actress, who has attracted attention for her dance performances, says working with the filmmaker gave her a different perspective on approaching a song, with its narrative significance taking precedence over choreography alone. Featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari in the lead roles, Yeh Prem Mol Liya marks the return of Rajshri Productions beloved character Prem to the big screen. With music composed by Himesh Reshammiya, the film is scheduled to release in cinemas on November 27, 2026. Ahead of its theatrical release, Sharvari has shared how filming Jhumka Patola allowed her to explore her passion for dance while understanding the storytelling traditions associated with Barjatyas cinema. Speaking about the experience, Sharvari said, I've always loved dancing, but with Sooraj sir, a song is so deeply woven into the narrative that you can't look at it as just a dance performance. While shooting 'Jhumka Patola', he would walk me through what the moment meant for my character and share stories from the songs he has made over the years, and I tried to carry that into every step and expression. Dance has its own language, and sometimes a song can say what a scene simply cannot. Rather than treating Jhumka Patola as an independent dance showcase, Sharvari approached the number through the circumstances and emotions of her character. Yeh Prem Mol Liya is written and directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya and produced under the banners of Rajshri Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films. The film also features Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak, Seema Pahwa, Saumya Tandon, Shaad Randhawa and Swanand Kirkire in supporting roles. Set against the backdrop of a traditional joint family, the film explores the transition from friendship to romance while examining the tensions between contemporary dating perspectives and traditional family values. With Himesh Reshammiya composing the soundtrack, the film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on November 27, 2026.
