Koffee With Karan 9: Salman Khan appreciates Ranveer Singh for his performance in Dhurandhar; says he had to control his tremendous amount of energy

Salman Khan has praised Ranveer Singh for his performance in Dhurandhar, highlighting the actors ability to rein in his trademark high energy for the role. During an appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 9, Salman was asked to choose between Ranbir Kapoors performance in Animal and Ranveers portrayal in Dhurandhar. Rather than picking a winner, the superstar explained why he believes the two performances cannot be compared. The exchange took place during a rapid-fire round featuring Salman and host Karan Johar, with Karisma Kapoor joining them on the couch to host the special segment. When asked which performance he rated better, Salman responded, Two different kinds of performance. You cannot compare any of them. Both are fantastic actors. When Karisma called his response diplomatic, Salman elaborated on what distinguished the two actors and their respective performances. He said, One has got a tremendous amount of energy. One has got a tremendous amount of intensity. Both have different styles of acting. Salman then turned his attention to Ranveers work in Dhurandhar, offering a more detailed assessment of the performance. He pointed out that the actor, known for his energetic screen presence and larger-than-life portrayals, had to exercise considerable restraint for the role. He further explained, Especially for Ranveer in Dhurandhar, he had to control all his energy. He does everything larger than life, and he had to control that big time. For an actor, thats a huge amount of insecurity that he did not have in the film. He is very secure as an actor and in that role in Dhurandhar. Karan Johar agreed with Salmans assessment, responding, Well said. Salmans comments offer an interesting perspective on Ranveers performance, particularly the restraint required to move away from the exuberant screen persona audiences have often associated with him. Rather than treating the two films as competing benchmarks, the superstar emphasised the different demands of their characters and the distinct acting styles of their leading men. The conversation also brought together three prominent names from Hindi cinema, with Salman sharing his views on the performances of Ranveer and Ranbir while Karisma and Karan steered the discussion. The exchange added another highlight to the rapid-fire segment of Koffee With Karan Season 9.
