Koffee With Karan 9: Kareena Kapoor Khan reveals she had a crush on Saif Ali Khan during Omkara screening, says, You were looking really hot

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan brought plenty of romance, humour and nostalgia to the couch of Koffee With Karan Season 9. Making a special appearance on the show, the couple became the only Bollywood pair to return together to the iconic couch for a second time. Hosted by Karan Johar, the festive episode saw the two revisit their early days, recalling their first impressions of each other, missed opportunities to work together and the moments that eventually brought them closer. One of the most interesting revelations came when Kareena recalled developing a crush on Saif during the preview screening of Vishal Bhardwajs Omkara (2006). The actress revealed that she had found Saif particularly attractive when she saw him at the screening. Recalling the moment, Kareena said, I came for the trial, remember? You were at the Omkara trial and you were looking really hot. You were wearing that black pyjamas and kurta. And I remember thinking God he is hot. Saif playfully remembered her compliment, saying, You said nice pyjamas. Kareena responded, I did compliment you. The conversation then moved to an earlier appearance on Koffee With Karan, when Saif had shared the couch with Preity Zinta. The couple exchanged playful remarks about Kareena's admiration for Saif and his earlier comment about finding Preity hotter. Kareena also admitted that she had wanted to work with Saif, adding, I wanted to work with him. He was so cute Saif, meanwhile, recalled an awkward encounter at Yash Raj Studios after Kareena had praised him on the talk show. He said, So I went upstairs in Yash Raj Studios. She had just praised me. So I said, 'Hey, so you said some really amazing things about me on the show.' Then she kind of nodded like this and closed the door. And I thought thats strange. Kareena explained, I think I got nervous. Karan Johar also brought up Saif's disappointment when Kareena declined two opportunities to work with him. Recalling the actress turning down Kal Ho Naa Ho, Karan said, And I remember how disturbed he was when you said no to Kal Ho Naa Ho. Because he was actually looking forward to working with you. Saif added, I was. And actually Race was offered to her which was also a really cool script. But she said, 'No, Im not doing anything right now.' Kareena summed up the missed opportunities by saying, But see destiny had its own plans. Although the two had previously been part of J.P. Dutta's LOC: Kargil (2003), their romance blossomed during the shoot of Vijay Krishna Acharya's Tashan (2008), which also starred Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor. The couple later shared screen space in Kurbaan (2009) and Agent Vinod (2012), before getting married in October 2012. Their appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 9 offered a glimpse into how a series of missed collaborations, unexpected encounters and first impressions eventually culminated in one of Bollywood's most recognised relationships.
