Who is Maithili Thakur, the DU graduate and musical sensation leading Bihar election?

Maithili Thakur, renowned for her Maithili folk and Indian classical music, is contesting the Alinagar seat in Bihar on a BJP ticket. Early counting shows her leading with 11,082 votes against RJDs Binod Mishra. Born in Madhubani and trained in music from a young age, Thakur balanced academics with her singing career, graduating in 2022 with a B.A. from Delhi Universitys Atmaram Sanatan Dharma College.
