Delaram Pouyabahar is a Canadian based computational biologist whose planned postdoctoral move to Harvard University collapsed after a new US travel ban halted visa processing for Iranian researchers. Despite completing interviews, fellowships and visa formalities, her entry was blocked under expanded restrictions announced in June 2025. Now based at the University of Toronto, Pouyabahar continues her internationally recognised research in machine learning driven single cell and spatial transcriptomics.
