What's new at Asheville schools ahead of the 202526 school year: Security vestibules, HVAC upgrades, and more

Asheville City Schools have made major security and facility upgrades ahead of the 202526 academic year. Lucy Herring Elementary now features a secure three-lock vestibule, while Claxton and Asheville High received HVAC and structural improvements. Renovations at Hall Fletcher Elementary will begin shortly. These changes were funded by county commissioners and the school board. A district-wide feasibility study is also planned to assess school locations and future classroom enhancements, according to reports from the WLOS.
