US work permit validity reduced to 18 months, here is who will be directly affected and who will not

The US has reduced the validity of Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) from five years to 18 months for certain immigrant categories, including adjustment-of-status applicants, refugees, asylees, and those under humanitarian protections. The change affects both new and renewal applications, requiring more frequent submissions. Standard work visa holders, such as H-1B and L-1 employees, are not impacted.
