UGC orders universities to put student mental health and well-being at the heart of campus life

The University Grants Commission has urged universities to prioritise student well-being through new guidelines that emphasise mental health support, counselling services, sports participation, and awareness programmes. Institutions have also been encouraged to integrate mental health education into curricula and use the Manodarpan Initiative, signalling a shift toward building healthier and more supportive campus environments.
