SC questions Delhi govt over hurried mid-year implementation of school fee regulation law

The Supreme Court questioned the Delhi government over the hurried mid-year implementation of the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act, 2025, expressing concern that retrospective enforcement could cause confusion and financial strain for private unaided schools. While backing the welfare objective of fee regulation, the court flagged missed statutory timelines, cautioned against retrospective fee fixation, and asked the government to clarify its approach. The matter will be heard again.
