NMC adds 9,911 MBBS seats for 2026-27; total intake reaches 1,36,939

The National Medical Commission has released the approved MBBS seat matrix for 2026 admissions. This matrix details 1,36,939 seats available across 823 medical colleges nationwide. New colleges contribute 2,400 seats, with private institutions offering more seats overall. Karnataka leads with the highest number of approved MBBS seats available. Private colleges must submit bank guarantees within seven days for new approvals.
