NEET-PG 2025: Supreme Court issues notice on PIL challenging reduced NEET cut-off percentiles for PG

The Supreme Court issued notice on a PIL challenging the reduced qualifying cut-off percentiles for NEET-PG 2025-26. The petition contests a National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences notice lowering standards to zero and negative percentiles. It alleges violations of Articles 14 and 21, risks to patient safety, dilution of merit and inconsistency with the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. The Bench will hear the matter on February 6, 2026, as scheduled before the court.
