Ira Singhals UPSC success story redefined perseverance and transformed barriers into milestones in civil services

Ira Singhal, an IAS officer and computer science engineer, made history by topping the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2014, becoming the first differently-abled woman to achieve All India Rank 1. Despite facing rejection due to scoliosis, she successfully challenged the system and cleared the exam four times. An alumna of NSIT and FMS Delhi, she previously worked at Cadbury and Coca-Cola before joining civil services and is known for her impactful administrative work and advocacy for inclusion.
