Green hydrogen explained: How it is produced, where it is used and Indias mission

Green hydrogen is emerging as a key pillar of India's clean energy transition, offering a low-carbon fuel for industries and transport that are difficult to electrify. Produced through renewable-powered electrolysis, it generates electricity using fuel cells with water as the only direct by-product. The National Green Hydrogen Mission aims to make India a global hydrogen hub by boosting production, renewable energy capacity and exports while strengthening energy security, reducing emissions and driving economic growth.
