Canada offers research lifeline to Indian talent amid US headwinds in higher education drive

Canada is expanding academic engagement with India as Indians face headwinds in the US higher education system. Universities Canada will lead 21 Canadian university presidents on a multi-city India mission to explore research collaboration, academic exchange and transnational education. The initiative aligns with renewed bilateral ties, CEPA negotiations, Canadas $1.7-billion research strategy and upcoming high-level visits, strengthening long-term education, research and industry partnerships across government, academia and innovation ecosystems in both countries over coming years.
