Assam CM approves compulsory history, geography for classes 6-8, boosting state knowledge and awareness

The Assam cabinet, led by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, has approved making history and geography compulsory for classes 6, 7, and 8, following the Justice (retd) Biplab Kumar Sharma committee recommendations, as quoted by the TNN. Each subject will carry 50 marks. Alongside curriculum changes, the cabinet approved a Rs 243 crore Dassault Systems project at Assam Engineering College and a Rs 335 crore second sainik school in Karbi Anglong, as reported by the TNN.
