Trai proposes fine up to Rs 50 lakh on telcos for improper handling of customer complaints

Telecom regulator TRAI is proposing a new system for telcos to handle customer complaints. Service providers must offer clear complaint registration on their web portals, apps, and chatbots. Regular updates on actions taken will be mandatory. Fines of up to Rs 50 lakh per quarter can be imposed for improper complaint dismissal.
