Police head constable killed in targeted terror attack in Anantnag

Head constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was killed in a suspected terrorist attack in Anantnag. The incident occurred in the busy Lal Chowk market area on Wednesday. Over two thousand suspects have been detained or questioned in connection with this attack. Preliminary investigation suggests a new group, United Liberation Council, claimed responsibility. Police are investigating whether the attacker was local or a foreigner.
