PCOS now PMOS: Health condition that affects every eighth woman renamed after 14 years of misunderstanding

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has been renamed polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) to better reflect its systemic impact beyond ovarian cysts. This change aims to improve diagnosis and treatment for the condition affecting nearly one in eight women globally, which involves hormonal and metabolic imbalances.
