Not sugar, nor bread: Delhi ortho surgeon warns against the most dangerous carbohydrate. Says, it triggers 'fatty liver and joint inflammation'

A new health warning by Dr Obaidur Rahman, an ortho and sports surgeon at Delhis Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, is drawing widespread attention online. In an Instagram video, he identified industrial starch, also known as micro dextrin or corn starch, as the most dangerous carbohydrate, claiming it can rapidly spike blood sugar, increase insulin resistance, promote fatty liver and trigger joint inflammation. Commonly hidden in packaged foods as a cheap filler, he urges greater awareness and reduced consumption.
