Indians had a crush brewing for a star. But, the love may be fading

Starbucks India unit reported a modest 5% rise in revenue to 1,277 crore in FY25 even as losses deepened 65% to 135.7 crore, marking a sharp contrast to the brands early years when customers queued for hours outside its first Mumbai store. Thirteen years after its debut and with 500 outlets, the chain is now under pressure to fix a high-cost model that Tata Consumer, its joint venture partner, says no longer works in a price-sensitive market.
