India-UK trade deal moving forward, though steel issue may delay launch

Talks on a free trade deal between Britain and India are moving swiftly. Trade Minister Peter Kyle stated discussions are going well. While the deal itself will not be reopened, its implementation might occur later than initially planned. This is due to Indian concerns regarding upcoming British steel trade measures. The agreement was signed in July 2025.
