Heavy rains cause waterlogging, uprooting of trees in parts of Kerala; red alert in 5 districts

Kerala is experiencing heavy overnight rains. This has led to widespread flooding, uprooted trees, and damaged homes. Normal life is disrupted in several areas. Authorities have issued red alerts for five districts, warning of extremely heavy rainfall. Tourist activities and night travel on hilly roads are prohibited in some regions. Educational institutions in three districts are closed today.
