Govt aims Rs 2,000 crore turnover for Tripura agarwood sector

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced plans to boost Tripura's agarwood industry turnover from Rs 100 crore to Rs 2,000 crore by establishing common processing centers and pursuing a Geographical Indication (GI) tag. The government has also increased the export quota for agarwood oil sixfold, aiming to strengthen the state's agar-based economy and generate significant employment.
