Fertiliser imports rise as local production falls this fiscal year

India significantly boosted fertilizer imports this fiscal year. Urea imports rose 85%, DAP 46%, and NPK 122%. This helped meet demand for key crop nutrition months. Urea sales increased despite lower domestic production. DAP sales saw a slight dip, but imports ensured availability. Complex fertilizer production grew, with imports more than doubling.
