Dogs understand what humans are saying? They understand our languages in ways we don't understand, says new evidence

Dogs may be processing human speech in ways scientists have not fully understood. A new study has found that their brains can identify word-like patterns in a continuous stream of sounds, showing a surprising similarity with humans. Researchers tested dogs using invented words that had no meaning, uncovering an unexpected preference for certain speech sounds. The findings raise intriguing questions about how dogs process what we say and whether everyday exposure to human speech shapes their brains.
