Delhi High Court seeks FSSAI, Centre's response on sale of non-dairy products as paneer

In a significant move, the Delhi High Court has called for replies from the FSSAI, the Centre, and the Delhi government concerning a public interest litigation (PIL). The PIL raises serious issues around non-dairy items being sold under the guise of 'paneer'. The petitioners stress the difficulty for consumers to ascertain the authenticity of paneer in restaurants and hotels. They advocate for product testing and explicit labeling of substitutes.
