Cant sleep after scrolling reels at night? Brain expert explains what your phone might be telling your mind

Late night scrolling can mislead the brain into thinking it is still daytime, warns NYU neuroscientist Dr Wendy Suzuki. Blue light from screens suppresses melatonin, disrupts the circadian rhythm, and leads to poor sleep, low mood, and reduced mental clarity. Dr Suzuki advises switching off screens an hour before bed and adopting screen free rituals, or using red light modes, to support brain repair and long term cognitive health.
