Delhi based Apollo specialist Dr Anshuman Kaushal has reignited the debate on MSG, claiming the additive is not harmful by itself but becomes problematic when used in ultra processed foods. In an Instagram post, he explains that MSG amplifies flavour, tricks taste buds and triggers dopamine spikes, causing people to overeat and stay hungry. The real health risk, he says, is nutrient poor junk food that relies on MSG to mask poor quality and drive addiction.
