After fuel price hike, electricity bills may also increase soon

The Central Electricity Authority has proposed increasing fixed monthly electricity charges, which could raise household power bills even with lower usage. The move aims to help power distributors recover costs as rooftop solar adoption and captive power generation reduce electricity purchases from discoms. Separate tariff structures for solar users have also been suggested.
