Colombo Kaps get new owners ahead of LPL 2026, sign Kusal and Kamindu Mendis

Colombo Kaps today announced that the franchise will come under the ownership of Witness Sports Alliance LLC, led by Saranyan Palaniswamy and K.C. Shyam Kangayan, ahead of Lanka Premier League Season 6. The new ownership marks an important step in the franchises journey as Colombo Kaps prepares to compete in one of Sri Lankas leading T20 cricket platforms. Under Witness Sports Alliance LLC, the franchise will focus on building a competitive, commercially strong and fan-focused team that reflects Colombos energy and passion for the game. As part of its early squad strategy, Colombo Kaps have pre-signed Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis and all-rounder Kamindu Mendis, giving the franchise a strong local foundation ahead of the upcoming season. Both players bring international experience, match-winning ability and strong recognition among Sri Lankan cricket fans.
