US says it thwarted potential ISIS-inspired New Year's Eve attack in North Carolina

The U.S. Justice Department said it foiled a New Years Eve ISIS-inspired attack by 18-year-old Christan Sturdivant from North Carolina. He was charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist group. FBI agents found a handwritten plan titled New Years Attack 2026 detailing attacks on civilians and police.
