Two giant oarfish wash up on Mexico beach, triggering panic and superstitions

Two rare Oarfish, often called doomsday fish, were spotted near the shore in Cabo San Lucas, surprising tourists and rapidly going viral online. Oarfish usually live thousands of feet below the oceans surface, making such sightings extremely rare. While folklore in Japan connects these fish to disasters, scientists say there is no evidence relating their appearance to earthquakes or other catastrophic events.
