SC grants anticipatory bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera in defamation, forgery case

The Supreme Court has granted anticipatory bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera. This comes in a defamation and forgery case filed by Assam Police. The court set aside the Gauhati High Court's order denying relief. Justices observed the case appears politically motivated. Personal liberty was emphasized. Khera will be released on bail if arrested, subject to conditions.
