LG Saxena approves creation of 5 new districts in Ladakh, UT to have 7 districts now

Ladakh now has seven districts. The Lieutenant Governor approved five new districts: Nubra, Sham, Changthang, Zanskar, and Drass. This fulfills a long-pending demand. The decision strengthens grassroots governance and decentralizes administration. It aims to ensure faster public service delivery to remote areas. New districts will create growth and employment avenues.
