IMF did not question GDP growth figures: Nirmala Sitharaman on lower grade on national accounts

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the IMF praised Indias healthy economic performance and did not question its growth figures. The C grade assigned to national accounts data was due to the outdated 2011-12 base year. India will adopt 2022-23 as the new base year from February 27, 2026, ensuring more accurate GDP and GVA calculations.
