Activist Gurjeet Singh Khalsa ended his 560-day protest atop a 400-foot BSNL tower after the Punjab government enacted a new anti-sacrilege law. The law, notified as the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, proposes stricter punishments, including life imprisonment, for sacrilege incidents.
