German authorities arrest five men suspected of planning Christmas market attack

German authorities have arrested five men suspected of planning an attack on a Christmas market in southern Bavaria. The men, from Morocco, Egypt, and Syria, were detained at the German-Austrian border. Investigators believe they intended to use a vehicle to target a crowded market. The motive is suspected to be Islamist. This follows previous vehicle ramming attacks in Germany.
